Homemade Chex Mix

This was so fun to make. The Chex recipe is on the box and it smells so good when it's in the oven. Hope my neighbors like it!

Snowman in the Forest

This is my second attempt at painting with acrylics. I like the way it feels "chilly". (I think I will use it as my cover for my Christmas CD which should be ready by Dec. 2016) Merry Christmas!

Faux Gingerbread House

My cardboard Gingerbread House was so fun to make and because it's non-perishable it will last for years.

Cork Holiday Wreath

I made one of these and it turned out cute! Very Easy! you have to drill a little hole thru each cork and run some wire thru the holes but its not too hard. The hard part is drinking enough wine to have that many corks.

Button Wreath

This wreath would also look great with colored buttons which is the way that I am going to make it. I think I would use a frame with more green in it and use red as the background.

Red-Straw Wreath

Another great "Pinterest" find. I can't wait to make this. Looks great. Hotglue and straws... what could be easier.

Home for the Holiday's

This is one of the most beautiful "holiday" fireplace's I have ever seen. I saw it on Pinterest. The stars are perfect and the candles are a good alternative to a real fire.

Gilded Pinecones

It's that time again. Holiday's are fast approaching and it's time to start decorating. This idea looks fun and easy and I will be trying it out this weekend. Happy decorating....
Tools and Materials
  • Pinecones
  • Screw eyes
  • Wire
  • Gold paint
  1. In a ventilated area, line a surface with plastic and then paper. Secure a rod across an open cardboard box.
  2. Insert a screw eye into base of each pinecone. Attach a 10-inch-long wire to each screw eye.
  3. Stir gold paint. Wearing gloves, dip pinecones to coat; hang on rod in box. Let dry (at least 1 day).
  4. Remove wire; thread with ribbon.

My White Button Tree

Take your spare buttons. Glue them onto a cone-shaped foam-form, add some dingle-balls and a star. I used white glue and did one side at a time.

Christmas Goodies

All the treats shown here are from Trader Joe’s. (I just love that store.) I put together the centerpiece courtesy of Michaels.

Gingerbread Cabin

I love the natural colors of this beautiful photo from If I ever have the time to make a "gingerbread dwelling" this is the one I would like to create.

Perfect Holiday Cookies

This is a photo from  These are probably the most perfectly decorated Christmas cookies I have ever seen. I wonder how long it took to create just one? They are a work of art.  Do you think you could eat one after so much effort was put into it? I don't think I could....

Ice Candles

 christmas ice-candle-winter-craft-photo-260-FF0108EFGA01
These are so easy to make. Cut the top off of a milk carton. Pour in some crushed ice. (don’t forget the wick) Pour in the melted wax, let dry and peel off the carton!

Little Visitors

A couple “woodland” visitors stopped by this weekend to sit on my new black piano. There was a chill in the air so I gave them some scarves to keep warm.
